November and December Workshops in midtown Manhattan
for audition preparation for regional theatre and summer stock
with Thomas Martin Conroy and DJ Salisbury.
Purpose of workshop:
– Lay the foundation for developing (or refining) your process of learning your song and creating a performance for auditions (i.e. To develop your process of rehearsing thoroughly)
– To be able to connect fully and then respond via impulse (preparation and organic response in the moment for an "alive" performance).
– To show as much as you can in a casting session where callbacks may be rather brief
– To practice taking risks and applying suggestions given by the director and music director during your auditions
– To get feedback and coaching from directors and music directors working in regional theater (weeks three and four will have guest directors in attendance –to be announced)
Four weeks sessions will be held on:
Session A: Tuesday nights November 8, 15, 22, 29 [7pm to 10pm]
Session B: Wednesday nights November 16, 23, December 7, 14 [7pm to 10pm]
If inquires/requests come for additional sessions or daylight times, we may add a third session.
Each session will begin with an introduction on the topics listed above.
Each participant (limited to eight per session) will work for 20-25 minutes each evening.
Each evening will conclude with a question/answer dialogue and overview for preparation for the following week.
Tuition Fees:
$350 (special launch pricing) with an additional discount for students who pay in full prior to the start of the first sessions: $320. We are setting a max of eight people per session so that all participants will get 20-25 minutes of work time each evening. To secure a spot in either class, please forward a head shot, resume, and an email correspondence introducing yourself and why you wish to take the workshops to: [email protected]
We will respond with information regarding payment instructions, location, and preparation for the first session. For participants wishing to work one-on-one as well, more information will be provided on the first evening of your first session.
